About the album:
Gebilde means form, construction or structure in German and defines well the architecture of this album. These pieces are in a way impulsive compositions. They represent spontaneous associations based on short live samples. Everything takes shape within a dialogue between a Synthesizer / Sampler and the saxophone. By this process patterns emerge arbitrarily and the essence or musical direction is manifested. In a way, the artistic intention is constantly in reaction to a series of imposed paterns. This album is a fall forward without ever really falling.

About the artist: 
Yannick Chayer is an artist from Montreal.
Flirting between different artistic allegiances such as experimental music and plastic art, Yannick Chayer defines his practice as rather dilettante. Through these varied fields of interests and different mediums he seeks to develop a personal language without rigid formulas. To be the sparkle of an esoteric and free reality, transcending the mass culture, is the target to be reached.
He is also the co-founder and co-director of the experimental music label Rara Avis

À propos de cet album:
Gebilde signifie forme, construction, structure en allemand et définie bien l’architecture de cet album. Ces pièces sont d’une certaine manière des compositions impulsives. Elles représente des assemblages spontanées ayant pour fondation de courts échantillonnages captés sur le vif. Le tout prend forme à l’intérieur d’un dialogue entre un Synthétiseurs/Sampler et le saxophone. Par ce procédé des schémas émergent arbitrairement et l’essence ou la direction musical se manifeste. D’une certaine manière l’intention artistique est constamment en réaction a une suite de paterns imposés. Cette album est une chute vers l’avant sans jamais vraiment tomber.

Flirtant entre différentes allégeances artistiques comme la musique expérimentale ainsi que l’art plastique, Yannick Chayer définit sa pratique comme étant plutôt dilettante. À travers ces champs d’intérêts variés et différents médiums il cherche à élaborer un langage personnel sans formules rigides. Être le scintillement d’une réalité ésotérique et libre, transcendant la culture de masse, est la cible à atteindre.
Il est cofondateur et codirecteur du label de musique expérimentale Rara Avis
