« Improvisations » a été enregistré le 17 octobre 2021 au home studio de Daniel James à Montréal, Québec. Cet enregistrement est un document des premiers mois de la relation musicale entre Pablo Jimenez et James. Pablo s'est immédiatement impliqué dans la scène musicale créative de Montréal après avoir déménagé à Montréal de la Colombie quelques mois avant la création de cet album. Après que Nicolas Caloia (Ratchet Orchestra, In The Sea, Mercury) ait mis les deux musiciens en contact, ils ont développé un son caractérisé par des improvisations libres énergiques, riches en textures, et parfois hilarantes. Chaque pièce de ce disque a été choisie parmi une collection d'improvisations que Pablo et Daniel ont enregistrées lors de leur cinquième session ensemble.

“Improvisations” was recorded on October 17, 2021 at Daniel James’ home studio in Montréal, Québec. This record is a document of the early months of Pablo Jimenez and James’ musical relationship. Pablo immediately involved himself in Montréal’s creative music scene upon moving to Montréal from Colombia months before this record was made. After Nicolas Caloia (Ratchet Orchestra, In The Sea, Mercury) connected the two musicians, they developed a sound characterized by energetic, texturally rich, and sometimes hilarious free improvisations. Each piece on this record was selected from a collection of improvisations Pablo and Daniel recorded during their fifth session together.
